Gaudí

Design Matteo Nunziati, 2020

Bed with a delightfully-curved structure that beautifully complements the soft textiles of the covers.

The Gaudí bed, available in single and double sizes, is designed as a tribute to the nobility of wood, the natural element par excellence. The headboard and legs, crafted from solid wood and available in various finishes, form a sinuous structure, the result of exquisite craftsmanship. The fabric or leather upholstery seems to rest naturally on this structure, following its lines without concealing them. This effect of apparent simplicity is the result of careful design that highlights the wood’s organic forms and creates a balance between the structure’s solidity and the softness of the upholstery. The result is a bed with a distinctive character, welcoming and harmonious in its proportions. The sleeping surface features adjustable slats.

Pictured frontally, the Gaudí bed with a frame of Black Tinted Ash N077 upholstered in gray Bruce 0810 matches the Chelsea comforter cover with pillowcase 7223. Lana Bouclé 475 anthracite and Abbraccio 621 black and white plaids complete the composition. On the sides, Foglio nightstands in a matte burnished T013 finish house objects and lights.

Gaudí pays tribute to the noble natural qualities of wood. This design was possible thanks to the skills of the expert cabinet makers and the excellent tailoring that have always been the Flou trademarks.

A side shot shows the upholstered headboard of the Gaudi bed in Bruce 0810 gray and the Chelsea 7223 comforter cover. On the Foglio nightstand in Brunito Opaco T013 finish, the Rugiada lamp in smoked glass catches the eye. A book and glasses suggest a collected, lived-in atmosphere, perfect for resting.

Gaudi bedding detail reveals a harmonious play of fabrics: gray Bruce 0810 for the frame, Chelsea 7223 comforter cover, and Lana Bouclé 475 anthracite and Abbraccio 621 black and white plaids. The herringbone rug lends elegance to the ensemble.

The head- and foot-boards of the Gaudí beds are produced using gently curved wood to create a sinuous support for the covers in fabric, or leather for greater prestige.

Configuration and estimate

In a room bathed in natural light, the Gaudi bed in Natural Iroko wood upholstered in a cream-colored Morgan 0902 fabric stands out for its textural elegance. At the foot of the bed, the matching bench amplifies its symmetry and comfort. Two Gaudi side tables with bronzed glass tops support a pair of Alba lamps, creating atmospheric light. The light gray resin floor and tone-on-tone carpet complete the chromatic harmony of the room.

The wooden structure that adds the exclusive touch to the bed Gaudí is available in natural, coffee-stained and black-stained ash or natural and coffee-stained iroko finishes.

Gaudi bedside tables with bronzed glass tops house Alba lamps, which cast soft light on the natural tones of the room. In the background, beyond the large windows, lush plants introduce greenery as a scenic and regenerating element.

The bedroom features the Gaudí bed with a Natural Ash N074 frame and an antique pink Nina 0751 upholstery. The Chelsea 7224 duvet cover pairs elegantly with small decorative pillows in antique pink Seattle 0568 and mocha Moss 0414, emphasizing the color harmony. On the right, the Victoria side table in Greige T019 finish holds books and personal items. The palette of materials blends with the warm plaster of the walls and the exposed-beam ceilings, evoking a refined simplicity with a Mediterranean flair.

In the natural ash wood version and combined with textured fabric covers and accessories with clean lines, the Gaudí bed expresses the desire for peaceful living and elegant simplicity.

The Gaudí bed features a slightly curved, upholstered headboard, entirely covered in white/black City 0418 fabric, which creates a vibrant and sophisticated texture. Its harmonious proportions convey a sense of contemporary intimacy, enhanced by natural light.

Detail of the Gaudí headboard: the black-and-white City 0418 fabric wraps around the frame, elegantly interrupted by a black-stained oak insert that is smooth and visually solid. The soft surface contrasts with the clean lines of the wooden frame, creating a dialogue of textures. The 6798 faded linen duvet cover adds a light and refined touch.

In a spacious, glass-walled room surrounded by greenery, the Gaudí double bed catches the eye with its black-and-white City 0418 upholstery and black-stained oak frame. Two large cushions in Clay 0799 fabric with a floral pattern and two small ones in City 0418 adorn the bed. The Foglio nightstand in a black finish, featuring a cylindrical lamp, completes the look with understated elegance.

Wood is a living material par excellence and, in this case, it is combined with natural textiles in terms of yarn composition and color palettes: it can be described as an invitation to create spaces where it is possible to live more simply in harmony with the surrounding environment.

In a minimalist bedroom, the GAUDÌ double bed—with its coffee-colored oak frame and slate-gray Nabuk N95 upholstery—stands out for its natural elegance. The 7239 duvet cover enhances the bed. Two small pillows in slate-gray Nabuk N95 and one large pillow in Walcher 0801 complete the look. On one side, PIERRE side tables with a matte burnished finish.

Even in the more exclusive and elegant version of the bed Gaudí, upholstered in soft Nabuk leather, freshness and unmistakeable individuality are guaranteed.
