Doze

Design Rodolfo Dordoni, 2014

A modular sofa system with deep seats that brings the comfort of a bed into the living area.

Doze, from the English word “nap,” conveys in its very name a sense of comfort that invites you to take a break. Designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, it is a modular sofa system with generous proportions, where the softness of the upholstery meets the clean lines of the forms.
The wide, deep seats echo some of the construction features of the Flou bed: a slatted base, generous spring-filled padding, and a breathable fabric layer underneath. The modular elements allow for the creation of linear, corner, or extended configurations, adapting the sofa to the space and the various ways of using it.
The original version is complemented by Doze Flat, introduced in 2015, which retains the system’s character while reducing the thickness of the armrests from 25 to 17 cm.
The Doze sofa with chaise longue in quartz-colored Alexander 0813 fabric reveals its modular and enveloping structure, complemented by cushions in natural shades. In the center, Yari coffee tables, in Calacatta Oro marble N067 and Silk Georgette Lucido N068, enhance the relaxation area, accompanied by ceramic, wood and glass objects. In the foreground, the Moon ottoman with Caribe 0714 upholstery and integrated tray top serves as a multifunctional element: coffee table and seat. Next to it, a second round pouf in Greg 0961 gray fabric, smaller and more compact, completes the arrangement. Large black windows diffuse natural light, highlighting the texture of the rug and the plugged grain of the wood floor. The interplay between soft and geometric surfaces makes the space dynamic and coherent, ideal for refined and relaxed conviviality.
Even its name – Doze – suggests total comfort and absolute relaxation, with Flou’s unmistakable quality and style.

The overall effect is airy and relaxing, ideal for contemporary living that is attentive to beauty and functionality.

In the foreground, two Moon poufs, one upholstered in Caribe 0741 with a tray and the other in gray Greg 0961 fabric. In the background, the CCLight bookcase in black T012 finish spans the entire wall with elegant backlit vertical elements, punctuated by books and objects. Natural light streaming through the large windows completes an atmosphere of refined simplicity.
In a living room with an industrial and minimalist flavor, the Doze modular sofa stands out with its solid and welcoming presence. Upholstered in velvety textured fabric, it offers deep seating with quilted seams. The polished concrete floor and gray resin-effect wall enhance visual contrasts, while black-and-white graphic artwork creates verticality.
Thanks to its height and the quilted upholstery, Doze makes an explicit reference to the most comfortable mattresses.
