CONFIGURATION AND ESTIMATE

Flora

Design Ilenia Viscardi, 2021

A modular seating system with soft, light shapes, designed to create free-form and ever-changing configurations.

Flora reimagines the sofa as a set of elements that can be freely combined. Inspired by the simple shapes of flower petals, the single and double seats create soft, continuous forms that give rise to informal, reconfigurable arrangements. A versatile system, suitable for both indoor and covered outdoor spaces. The padded frame is upholstered in fabric or leather, with covers that are easily removable thanks to black zippers that follow the curved profile of the seat and backrest. A functional detail that becomes part of the design. Completing the design is the removable “cape,” available in the same upholstery or in a contrasting color, which attaches to the seat with Velcro and to the back of the backrest with a counterweight.

Facing a window overlooking the greenery, the Flora sofa upholstered in gray Canvas 0959 with Arctic Fred 0794 cape stands out for its soft shapes and exposed stitching. The combination of bouclé fabric and dark edging highlights its elegance. The gray rug underneath defines its space in a bright and airy atmosphere.

Flora has a young dynamic design; single or double seats that can be easily and freely arranged to suit.

A bright living area features two Flora armchairs upholstered in gray Canvas 0959 with Fred 0794 Arctic covers, facing the greenery outside. Surrounding them, Pierre poufs in Fred 0794 Arctic and Clark 0814 Black add a lively touch to the arrangement, which is completed by Quartetto side tables on either side and a Pierre coffee table in the center. The large windows open the scene to nature, creating a dialogue between the interior and the landscape.

Close-up detail of the Flora armchair: the light gray Canvas 0959 upholstery with Arctic Fred 0794 cape sits on the oval-shaped side panel. The bouclé texture and dark stitching create an elegant and tactile contrast. In the background, glimpses of green are glimpsed beyond the large windows, blending interiors and surrounding nature.

In the background, the rounded armrest of the Flora sofa in Canvas 0959 light gray with Arctic Fred 0794 mantle enriches the composition with tactile softness.

Two Flora sofas upholstered in Vermont 0832 blue, with four velvet 0646 capes, also blue, define the central space. Flora armchairs in blue N82 Nubuck with Rudolf mantle 0795 echoing the same hues complete the composition. In the center, Pierre side tables flanked by a Pierre ottoman in Pacific 0792 blue. Completing the room, the Foglio sideboard in Oxide finish balances the scene with understated elegance.

In the foreground, the Pierre ottoman upholstered in Pacific 0792 blue creates a velvety contrast with the Pierre side tables in curved metal. Behind, Flora sofas in Vermont 0832 blue with 0646 velvet mantles of the same color introduce tactile softness, while a small pouf and a sculptural lamp enrich the corner, nestled in the green surrounding landscape.

Inspired by the shapes of flower petals, the seating is soft and comfortable and can be embellished by a removable cape in the same fabric as the unit, or in a contrasting shade.

Sofa with a generous, curved silhouette, positioned on a terrace overlooking the lake. The green 9016 faux leather frame accommodates a quilted VERMON 0833 fabric cover, featuring a sophisticated light green geometric pattern. Sculptural elements and Mediterranean vegetation complete the setting, where comfort and design blend with the surrounding nature.

The green faux leather center band marks the division between seat and back, adding visual rhythm to a cozy upholstery designed for outdoors.

Flora has an equally spontaneous contribution when furnishing indoor and outdoor spaces. The fabrics can become one with the vegetation and nature.

Finishes and Contrasts

Fabrics, leathers, and colors offer a variety of ways to interpret Flora. The soft surfaces of the seats lend themselves to coordinated or contrasting combinations, while the “cover” allows for an additional variation in material and color, giving each arrangement its own unique character.
